Divine Hag, Crone Goddess and Creator of this land I call home.
Bearer of storms and the bringer of snow and frost.
She is contrast; dark and light; death and regeneration.
Carrion picking at the bones and the first snowdrops.
In the dark hours of Samhain, the Cailleach washes her great plaid in the Corryvreckan. When her plaid emerges from the tempestuous waters clean white, she uses it to blanket Scotland in snow.
Then, astride a great grey wolf, she travels the land, banishing any signs of new growth that may appear.
Ensuring life survives the Winter and reawakens in Spring.
For she is the keeper of the seed ☾
