Tails from the Black House
Beech Scot’s Gaelic, Faidh-bhile
Taking inspiration from Mother Nature and Irish Sculptor Fidelma Massey; I painted my namesake in ink of Rowan and Hawthorn. This woodland sprite is a recurring theme in my art.
So I mirrored and merged a photograph of our Beech Mother Tree with another of the Northern Lights over An Taigh Dubh. I then digitised the sprite and married them all together and made some forest magick.
Dryads are tree dwelling spirits. They are playful creatures who appear androgynous, although they are nearly always referred to as female. I see those reflected in my art as a peek behind the veil. A glimpse of the Otherworld of An Taigh Dubh and what lies just out of sight.
Dryad is a Limited Edition print, it will come signed and numbered.
