Making Friends is inspired by my childhood memories and of holidays spent in the Highlands.
For when the world weighs heavy, I return to happy times spent in Nature with my Granda.
Like the sacred waters of the rivers he fished, these memories are a motion of tenderness in tough times.
Many moons ago, I wrote a short story - Fly Fishing with Cats, an ode to my Granda, here’s an excerpt:
“The glen is taken up by a series of loch’s – the largest Loch Ness, with a series of river’s connecting them. An angler’s dream, and perfect for a kid with a vivid imagination, especially when it came to tales of the Loch Ness Monster.
Even now, if we are up that way hill walking and drive past the loch, despite logic, look, still hoping to catch a glimpse.”
